Atlantic OCEAN

Another calm day at sea Dec 31 2021.jpeg

From Owen this morning--- "Third day of slow conditions-- You do not want to see your boat flags dead."

Still no wind or currents.  Conditions are expected to change tomorrow, but only last for 2-3 days and then, unfortunately, more flat seas.  Owen reports the weather is HOT!!!  Especially since no wind.

Since there is no current or wind assist, we are keeping a fairly westerly course.  Winds are expected to come from the North in a few days so as conditions change, we will probably see Owen head SW to take advantage of currents and wind assist to gain speed and distance and keep the waves from hitting him on beam.

Owen is in great spirits and we are both hoping that 2022 brings favorable currents and winds!

While the seas are flat, the generosity of our friends and family is not! Owensrowing is thrilled to announce that we have raised $175,000 for Okizu!  What a way to end the year!  Our title sponsor, Novogradac Rivers Foundation, matched their initial donations, the Kieske Family became Humpback Whales and we added Maya, Darren and Devon to our Killer Orca team.

We received 82 entries to our 75-25 pool raising $1,230 for Okizu and $410 to the entrant who most closely predicts Owen's finish time!

We continue to be humbled by the generosity of so many and look forward to celebrating with you on land in 2022!
